Volleyball adds Hao Jin for 2017

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson University volleyball head coach Deng Yang announced the signing Wednesday of University of Missouri transfer Hao Jin (Shijiazhuang, China) to a grant-in-aid offer for 2017.

Jin, a 6-2 middle blocker, played for two seasons at Missouri. As a freshman, she saw action in nine matches, posting 12 kills and seven blocks while hitting at a .407 clip.  Her best outing was a nine-kill, six-block performance against the University of South Florida.  She was named to the 2015-16 SEC First-Year Honor Roll.

Jin played in two matches her sophomore year and earned a spot on the Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll.  She helped contribute to the Tigers' SEC Championship and Sweet 16 appearance.

9227Jin will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Hatters.

"Hao is a strong all-around player and understands the game well," Stetson head coach Deng Yang said.  "She is really good with quick tempo balls and has a fast arm.  She also has a great work ethic and is driven to succeed both on the court and in the classroom.  I think she will fit in very well with the rest of our team."

Prior to coming to the U.S, Jin starred for Hebei Province (China), helping the program earn back-to-back first place finishes in 2013 and 2014 at the Middle School Volleyball Games.  The 2013 Hebei team was one of the top four middle school volleyball teams in all of China.

Jin is Stetson's third signee for 2017.  She joins Jenna Boland and Riley Nieporte who signed in the fall of 2016.
