Hatters Edge Lipscomb for First ASUN Win

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Stetson women's tennis picked up their first Atlantic Sun Conference win of the season with a 4-3 win over Lipscomb, Thursday at Huston Marsh Griffith Tennis Center.

The Hatters (4-12 overall, 1-2 ASUN) started the match by winning the doubles point. The No. 2 duo of Sofia Ferding & Lucie Renault earned a 6-3 win, and the Hatters later clinched the point when Lipscomb failed to field a team at No. 3.

In singles, Lipscomb picked up wins at the top three spots in the lineup, including a pair of three set victories.

Stetson rallied in the bottom half of the lineup. Renault earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4, and Ferding was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 5. The Hatters clinched the match when Lipscomb failed to field a player at No. 6.

The Hatters continue their ASUN road swing on Saturday at Kennesaw State.
