Hatters Visit Furman, Coastal Carolina This Weekend

Stetson plays its final road games of the season this weekend when the Hatters visit Atlantic Sun Conference foes Furman, 5 p.m., Friday and Coastal Carolina, Noon, Sunday.

The Hatters (5-8 overall, 5-2 ASUN) are still looking to secure a spot in next month's ASUN Tournament, and they can punch their ticket with a win in either game and a loss by Kennesaw State or Old Dominion, which is a certainty since the Owls and Monarchs play each other on Friday.

Stetson saw its program-record five-game winning streak come to an end in heartbreaking fashion last Saturday in a 13-12 overtime loss to Mercer.

During their winning streak, the Hatters averaged 19 goals per game, with Sam Maguire scoring 24 of Stetson's 95 goals. She enters the weekend fourth in the ASUN with a school-record 38 goals. Not to be out done, Lindsay Summers is fourth in the league with 26 assists.

Furman (9-4, 5-1) owns a balanced team, ranking sixth in the league with 12.38 goals per game and fourth with a 9.77 goals-against average. Abby Shields leads the Paladins with 49 points on the strength of 27 goals and 22 assists.

Coastal Carolina (8-5, 5-1) leads the ASUN in shooting percentage (.496) and is second in goals-against average (9.15). Maggie Carr leads the Chanticleers and ranks second in the ASUN with 35 assists.

Fans have several ways to follow this weekend's action. The games will be streamed live and live stats will also be available. Fans can also follow the team's official Twitter feed @StetsonLacrosse for in-game updates.
