Rebecca Ingram to Represent Australia in Commonwealth Youth Games

Stetson University indoor and beach volleyball incoming freshman Rebecca Ingram will represent her homeland of Australia at the Commonwealth Youth Games in The Bahamas from July 19-23.

Ingram will join more than 1300 athletes from 70 Commonwealth Nations and Territories for the five-day international sporting event, which features boxing, cycling, judo, rugby, beach soccer, beach volleyball, swimming, track and field, and tennis.

In April, Ingram and her teammate won a second consecutive u19 Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championship.  The pair also won the u17 Australian title in 2015.

A native of Victoria, Ingram was named the most outstanding junior beach volleyball player of 2017 by Volleyball Australia.   She also reached the quarterfinals of the Asian U21 Beach Volleyball Championship in March.

The 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games will be the largest international sporting event ever to be hosted in The Bahamas, and the largest-ever edition of the Youth Games.
