Hatters Drop 3-0 Decision at Lipscomb

Charlotte Earnhart serves three aces

Nashville, Tenn. -- Behind a strong serving attack, Lipscomb defeated visiting Stetson 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-22) in an ASUN volleyball match Friday night at Allen Arena.

The Hatters, playing the first match of a two-game road trip, fell to 1-13 overall, 0-2 in the conference.

Carli Anderson served eight aces for the Lady Bisons (7-7, 1-1), including six in the first set alone to give Lipscomb an early lead in the match.

Stetson posted 12 kills and hit .280 in the second set, but Lipscomb hit .474 in the frame and took a 2-0 lead into intermission.

The Hatters played their closest set in third frame, rallying from nine points down to close the gap to 20-19 and then 21-20.  Charlotte Earnhart served three aces and added a kill during a 6-0 Stetson run.  

For the match, Eva Deisa led the Hatters with 10 kills and a .320 hitting percentage.  Hao Jin added six kills and five blocks.  Naina Ivanova registered 17 assists, seven digs and four blocks.  Chelcie Spence tallied 13 digs.

Shelby Connors played in her 99th career match.

The Hatters will visit Kennesaw State at 7 p.m. Saturday. The match will be streamed on Facebook Live.
