Hatters Fall in Straight Sets at KSU

Kennesaw, Ga. -- Kennesaw State posted a .311 attack percentage and defeated Stetson 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-9) in an ASUN volleyball match Saturday night at the KSU Convocation Center.

The Owls (8-3, 3-0 ASUN) remained undefeated in conference play while the Hatters fell to 1-14, 0-3.

Stetson played even with Kennesaw throughout most of the first set, erasing a 16-11 deficit to tie the set at 22.  KSU scored the final three points of the frame, however, to take a 1-0 lead in the match.  The Owls carried that momentum through the final two sets.

Stetson hit .263 in the opening set, posting 13 kills overall, but the Hatters managed just 15 kills the rest of the way, hitting .015 in the second and third sets combined.

Defensively, Stetson recorded 48 digs in the match.  Libero Chelcie Spence registered 15 digs and Charlotte Earnhart picked up 10.

Rebecca Ingram had seven kills to lead the offense.  Senior Shelby Connors played in her 100th career match.

Anaiah Boyer had 13 kills for KSU.

The Hatters will return home to begin a four-game homestand on Friday night vs. NJIT.
