Hatters Host North Florida on Saturday

With the ASUN Conference season nearing the halfway point, Stetson men's basketball is hoping a two-game home stand will give them an opportunity to get back in the race. That opportunity begins Saturday when the Hatters host North Florida at 4 p.m. at Edmunds Center. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.

The Hatters (10-13 overall, 2-4 ASUN, who also host Jacksonville next Monday as part of their home stand, have lost four straight games overall after a dropping a 76-69 decision at Jacksonville on Wednesday. Stetson and head coach Corey Williams are anxious to get back home, where the Hatters are 2-0 in conference play.

"We've certainly got to take advantage of being at home," Williams said following the JU game. "Saturday is a must win for us. We have to find a way to win that game."

In order for the Hatters to win they'll need to find a way to slow down UNF's high-octane offense. The Ospreys (9-14, 3-3) lead the ASUN in scoring at 80.2 points per game, and that number balloons to 86.5 points per game in ASUN play. UNF also leads the conference and ranks eighth in the NCAA with 11.3 made 3-pointers per game.

Luke Doyle led Stetson with 16 points in Wednesday's loss, going 6 of 9 from the field and 3 of 6 from 3-point range. Angel Rivera had 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Leo Goodman chipped in with 11 points off the bench.

Game Day Notes
•The Hatters and Ospreys are meeting for the 27th time on Saturday. UNF holds a 14-12 advantage in the series. Stetson has won just 2 of the last 6 meetings at Edmunds Center.
•Stetson defeated UNF, 88-74, last January in DeLand behind 26 points from Derick Newton.
•Luke Doyle is rapidly approaching two significant career milestones. The senior guard needs 105 points to reach 1,000 for his career, and he is also 15 3-pointers shy of becoming Stetson's career leader. He enters play Saturday with 192 three-point field goals.
•Over the last three games, Angel Rivera is averaging 13.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists while shooting 61.9 percent from the field -- including 50 percent (5-10) from 3-point range -- and 76.9 percent at the free throw line.
•Divine Myles is 41 assists and seven steals shy of becoming the first player in ASUN Conference history with 1500 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists and 150 steals in a career. He is also 138 points away from breaking Stetson's career scoring record.
