Hatters Blanked at Liberty

Liberty scored a pair of first half goals and Stetson was unable to rally as the Hatters suffered a 2-0 loss in ASUN Conference women's soccer action, Sunday in Lynchburg, Va.

The loss effectively eliminates the Hatters (4-9-3, 1-5-1) from ASUN Tournament contention. Liberty improves to 4-10 overall and 3-3 in league play.

Liberty opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Gabrielle Farrell scored from 25 yards out off an assist from Kasey Jamieson.

The Flames made it a 2-0 game just over six minutes later on a goal by Sierra Lam. Kayleigh Kardos had the assist and Liberty had a commanding lead.

Those two goals were all the Flames need as they won for the third time in four games.

Stetson managed just seven shots for the game, including five on-goal. Liberty, meanwhile, launched 26 shots and peppered Stetson keeper Emily Plotz with 15 shots on-goal. Plotz finished the game with a career high-tying 13 saves.

The Hatters conclude the 2018 season when they visit FGCU, Saturday, Oct. 20th in Fort Myers, Fla.
