Hatters Open Final Homestand Wednesday

Stetson men's soccer opens a two-game home stand when the Hatters host Jacksonville in a pivotal ASUN Conference match up for both teams, 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Athletic Training Center. The game will streamed on ESPN3.

The Hatters (5-7-1 overall, 0-2-1 ASUN) are seeking their first conference win of the season. With only three games remaining in the regular season, the Hatters likely need two positive results to qualify for the six-team ASUN Tournament in November.

After hosting JU on Wednesday, the Hatters get another shot to solidify their postseason fate when they host North Florida on Saturday.

Jacksonville, meanwhile, is in solid postseason position despite a 2-10-0 overall record. The Dolphins are 2-1-0 in conference play, and their six points has them tied for third in the league with UNF.

The Dolphins enter Wednesday's with losses in three of their last four games, including a 2-1 loss to UNF last Friday.

News & Notes: The Hatters will receive commemorative rings for winning the 2017 ASUN regular season championship in a pregame ceremony … Stetson has played Jacksonville more than any opponent in program history … the Dolphins own a 36-26-10 record in a series which dates back to 1957 … Stetson and JU tied in the regular season a year ago, but the Dolphins recorded a 2-1 overtime victory in the ASUN Tournament semifinals … JU head coach Mauricio Ruiz is a 2005 Stetson graduate.

Up Next: The Hatters close out their home schedule when they host North Florida, 7 p.m., Saturday. The Hatters will honor their 10 seniors in Senior Day festivities prior to the game.
