Hatters Resume ASUN Play Saturday at FGCU

Stetson men's soccer resumes ASUN Conference play on Saturday when the Hatters visit FGCU for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Fort Myers.
 
The Hatters (4-5-1, 0-0-1) opened conference play back on Sept. 13 with a 3-3 draw against Liberty in DeLand. They've gone 2-3-0 in the five games since, with wins over USC Upstate and Florida Atlantic. Stetson suffered a 3-1 loss on Monday to SMU. Gabriel Diniz scored the Hatters' only goal against the Mustangs.
 
Sophomore Erwan Colas continues to lead the Hatters offensively, with five goals and two assists. His 12 points ranks sixth in the ASUN while his five goals are tied for fifth.
 
The Hatters lead the ASUN in total shots (134) and are second in shots per game (13.4), shots on goal (55) and corner kicks (47).
 
FGCU (5-3-1, 1-1-0) owns an ASUN win over NJIT (2-0) and a loss to Lipscomb (3-2). Forward Shak Adams paces the team offensively with five goals and five assists.
 
Goalkeeper Gustavo Vasconcelos leads the ASUN in goals-against average (1.25), save percentage (.824) and saves (42).
 
News & Notes: FGCU leads the all-time series 6-4-1 … the teams played to a 1-1 draw last season in DeLand … Stetson's last win in the series was a 2-1 victory in 2013.
 
Up Next: The Hatters visit Georgia State, 7 p.m., Tuesday.
