Hatters Visit Georgia State on Tuesday

Stetson men's soccer returns to non-conference play on Tuesday when the Hatters visit Georgia State, 7 p.m., in Atlanta, Ga.

The Hatters (4-6-1) are looking to get back on the positive side of the ledger after losing three of their last four matches, including a 3-1 setback Saturday at ASUN Conference opponent FGCU. Lewis Scattergood scored Stetson's lone goal on Saturday, and the Hatters have been limited to five goals in their last four outings.

Sophomore Erwan Colas continues to lead the Hatters with five goals and 12 total points. Three other players have scored two goals apiece.

Georgia State (6-3-1), members of the Sun Belt Conference, played to a scoreless draw with conference foe Appalachian State in the last match. The Panthers had a 6-match winning streak snapped in a 2-1 loss to Santa Clara on Sept. 29.

As a team, the Panthers have scored just 14 goals in 10 games but they've also allowed just seven. Georgia State was ranked 31st nationally in goals-against average prior to their game at App State last Saturday. They'll enter Tuesday's match with a 0.68 team gaa.

News & Notes: Stetson is 7-21-1 all-time against the Panthers … this will be the first meeting between the former conference foes since 2012 … Georgia State was a member of the ASUN Conference from 1983-2005 … following Tuesday's match, the Hatters close the regular season with four straight games against conference opponents.

Up Next: The Hatters visit NJIT, 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, in Newark, N.J.
