Hao Jin Named ASUN Second Team All-Conference

Nashville, Tenn. -- Stetson University senior middle blocker Hao Jin (Shijiazhaung, China) has been named ASUN Second Team All-Conference, the league announced at its championship banquet Wednesday evening.  She is the first Hatter to earn all-conference honors since Madison Akins was tabbed in 2014.

Jin has played in all 28 matches this season, averaging 2.24 kills and 1.01 blocks-per-set while hitting at a .314 clip.  She earned ASUN Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors and was selected to three all-tournament teams.

An Economics major, Jin topped 100 blocks in 2018 for the second year in row.  Of her 102 rejections, 23 have been solo blocks, giving her a school record 50 solo blocks in her Hatter career.  No other ASUN player has more over the past two years.

Offensively Jin ranks seventh in the ASUN in attack percentage (.314), posting double digit kills in nine matches.  She registered a career-best 17 kills, including the game-winner, in Stetson's 3-2 win over St. John's earlier this season.  She also leads the team with 20 aces.

Stetson (16-12) will be the No. 5 seed for the ASUN Championship and will face No. 4 seed Liberty (14-16) at 5 p.m. Thursday in Kennesaw, Ga.  The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
