Hatters Visit Bethune-Cookman on Monday

Stetson men's basketball renews one of its top rivalries on Monday when the Hatters visit Bethune-Cookman, 7 p.m, at Moore Gymnasium in Daytona Beach, Fla.
 
Monday's game is the 32nd meeting between the Hatters (1-5) and Wildcats (2-4) in a series which began in 1968. Both teams are in need of a win as the Hatters have lost five straight, while Bethune-Cookman has lost its last two games.
 
Stetson suffered an 87-79 overtime loss on Friday against VMI. Five Hatters scored in double figures, led by Leo Goodman's 13 points.
 
Bethune-Cookman hasn't played since last Tuesday when Nebraska-Omaha handed the Wildcats a 76-56 defeat.
 
News & Notes
•The Hatters and Wildcats first met in 1968, and have played each other at least once every year since 2010.
•Stetson head coach Corey Williams is 3-2 against the Wildcats
•Stetson assistant coach Gravelle Craig was Bethune-Cookman's head coach from 2011-17
•Stetson limited VMI to 42.9 percent shooting in Friday's loss. It was the first time this season the Hatters held a Division I opponent to less than 45 percent shooting.
•The Hatters shot a season-best 80 percent (20-25) from the free throw line on Friday
•Abayomi Iyiola's double-double (12-13) on Friday was his 2nd of the season and 6th of his career
