Hatters Host Kennesaw State on Saturday

Stetson men's basketball inches closer to the end of the regular season when the Hatters host ASUN Conference foe Kennesaw State, 4 p.m., Saturday at Edmunds Center. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.

The Hatters (11-18 overall, 3-8 ASUN) need a win to maintain their current hold on the No. 7 seed for the upcoming ASUN Tournament. Stetson, which leads eighth-place USC Upstate by one win for seventh, had a chance to move up in the standings on Thursday but suffered an 82-73 loss to Lipscomb despite a career-high 21 points from freshman Christiaan Jones.

Kennesaw State (10-17, 6-6) is trending upward and enters Saturday's game off of arguably the conference's most impressive of the season following its 97-93 win at FGCU on Thursday. James Scott and Nick Masterson each scored 27 points to lead the Owls.

Overall, Kennesaw has won four straight games and five of their last six. The Owls defeated Stetson, 95-81, on Jan. 18 in Kennesaw, Ga.

News & Notes

•The Hatters have lost four straight games overall against the Owls, and haven't defeated Kennesaw State since an 84-79 win on the road on Jan. 23, 2016. Stetson's last home win against KSU came on Feb. 28, 2013 (91-77).
•Luke Doyle is approaching two significant career milestones. The senior guard needs 27 points to reach 1,000 for his career, and he is also four 3-pointers shy of becoming Stetson's career leader. He enters play Saturday with 203 3-point field goals. He is only the 2nd player in school history with 200 3-pointers.
•Divine Myles is 12 assists shy of becoming the first player in ASUN Conference history with 1500 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists and 150 steals in a career. He is also 25 points away from breaking Stetson's career scoring record.
•Myles is entering rarefied air on a national level as well. Since the start of the 1996-97 season, only 35 players across college basketball have reached totals of 1500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists (Stats, Inc./NCAA).
