Hatters Visit Upstate on Thursday

Stetson men's basketball opens its final ASUN Conference road trip of the season when the Haters visit USC Upstate, 7 p.m., Thursday in Spartanburg, S.C. The game is being streamed live on ESPN3.

Stetson (10-16, 2-7) is looking to snap a seven-game losing streak as the Hatters head down the ASUN home stretch. Stetson hasn't tasted victory since an 87-69 win against the Spartans (6-20, 1-8) on Jan. 13 in DeLand.

The Hatters have had, however, several close calls during their skid, with six of the seven losses coming by eight points or fewer. Included in that list of close games are a three-point loss (85-82) at Lipscomb on Jan. 20, and a 1-point setback (68-67) against Jacksonville on Jan. 29.

The Spartans have been struggling for much of the season. Upstate's last win was a 91-85 win against Jacksonville on Jan. 18.

News & Notes
•The Hatters and Spartans are meeting for the 21st time in program history on Thursday, in a series which dates back to 2008, when the Spartans joined the ASUN Conference.
•Stetson has won the last two meetings in the series, including an 87-69 win in DeLand in January.
•Stetson is 3-6 all-time in Spartanburg, including an 83-72 win in their last visit, Jan. 16, 2017.
•Stetson has made at least one 3-point field goal in each of the last 418 games after making 8 last Saturday at North Florida. Stetson's last game without a trey was vs. Colorado State on Dec. 28, 2004.
•Luke Doyle is rapidly approaching two significant career milestones. The senior guard needs 56 points to reach 1,000 for his career, and he is also 7 3-pointers shy of becoming Stetson's career leader. He enters play Thursday with 200 three-point field goals. He is only the 2nd player in school history with 200 3-pointers.
•Divine Myles is 23 assists shy of becoming the first player in ASUN Conference history with 1500 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists and 150 steals in a career. He is also 80 points away from breaking Stetson's career scoring record.
•Myles is entering rarefied air on a national level as well. Since the start of the 1996-97 season, only 35 players across college basketball have reached totals of 1500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists (Stats, Inc./NCAA).
