Hatters Dominate FAMU

Stetson women's tennis picked up its third victory of the season on Thursday with a decisive 6-1 win over Florida A&M in Tallahassee.
 
The Hatters (3-1) swept all six singles matches against the Rattlers, winning each in straight sets, after dropping the doubles point.
 
Brooke Milner & Lucie Renault, Stetson's No. 2 doubles tandem, were the only Hatter duo to emerge victorious, winning 6-3.
 
Down 1-0 on the scoreboard as singles play began, the Hatters made quick work of FAMU.
 
Arijana Korac set the tone with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1, and Renault followed with an identical result at No. 3.
 
Maxine Bateman gave the Hatters a 3-1 lead with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6, and Milner clinched the match victory with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 5.
 
Vicky Geurinckx earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4, and Danel Ashirova closed the match with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 2.
 
The Hatters return to action when they host Iowa State, 10 a.m., Saturday at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
