Hatters Close Out Road Trip at NJIT

Stetson men's basketball closes out its final road trip of the season when the Hatters visit NJIT, 4 p.m., Saturday in a key ASUN Conference contest for both teams. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.

The Hatters (10-17, 2-8) are looking to right the ship and snap an eight-game losing streak as the regular season winds down. With just four conference games left, the Hatters need to build momentum for another possible post-season run.

If the Hatters are to get back on track down the stretch, they'll need more games like the one turned in by Divine Myles in Thursday's loss at USC Upstate. The senior guard – who now needs just 54 points to become Stetson's all-time scoring leader – was outstanding against the Spartans with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.

NJIT (12-13, 5-5) enters Saturday's game tied for the all-important fourth spot in the ASUN standings with North Florida. The top four teams host first round games in the ASUN Tournament, so the Highlanders need to keep winning in order to assure themselves a home game in the postseason.

NJIT is led by one of the ASUN's top inside-outside combos. Six-foot-10 junior Abdul Lewis patrols the inside, averaging 12.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while 6-foot-6 sophomore swingman Anthony
Tarke paces the offense from the wing with 15.9 points, while adding 6.1 boards per outing.

Following Saturday's game, the Hatters close out the regular season with three straight at home.
