Hatters Sweep Mercer and Coastal Carolina on Friday

Macon, Ga. -- Stetson opened ASUN play on a dominant note, sweeping Mercer and Coastal Carolina by identical 5-0 scores Friday afternoon at Bear Beach.

The 17th-ranked Hatters won all 10 matches in straight sets to improve to 16-6 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Sunniva Helland-Hansen and Carly Perales won at 1 the seed against Mercer and at the 2 seed against Coastal Carolina. Meanwhile, Sammee Thomas and Darby Dunn earned victories at the 2 seed against Mercer and at the 1 seed against Coastal Carolina.

Rachel Noble and Samantha Harris won both their matches at the 3 seed, as did Julie Varga and Lauren Durham at the 4 seed.

Quinci Birker and Rebecca Ingram defeated Mercer 2-0 at the 5 seed, while Alexa Richardson and Katinka Krahn earned a 2-0 win at the 5 seed over Coastal Carolina.

The Hatters have now won 15 straight matches against ASUN opponents, dating back to 2017.

Stetson will face Mercer and Coastal Carolina once again on Saturday.
