What to expect as a Stetson University cheerleader for the 2018-19
First and foremost college cheerleaders are ambassadors for their school and must always conduct themselves as such! It is our job to demonstrate sportsmanship and Hatter Pride on the field, court, around campus, and in the community. This will always be SU cheer's top priority!
Cheerleading is a year round sport, we cheer at both fall and spring sporting events. The competition squad will be competing in the spring as well. You can expect to have practice three times a week, strength and conditioning once a week, and study hours. These are mandatory the scheduled times will be added onto you Stetson class schedule.
With classes, practice, conditioning, study hall. games, special events, and competitions there will be a lot going on. Don't over commit yourself as a Stetson cheerleader. Some may be rewarded a scholarships for participation at which comes commitment. You will be expected to honor your commitment to this program, failure to do so can result in dismissal from the team and or loss of scholarship.
What I am looking for during tryouts
I will be looking for individuals that display a clean and strong execution of core skills. Do not attempt skills that you do not have! Technique is the MOST important thing that I look at in all areas. Individuals must have a positive attitude. Non-conduct sportsmanship will not be tolerated. Prospects must also display a "game-day" appearance.
All Forms MUST be turned in by APRIL 9TH, 2018
