Virtual Cheer Tryouts Set for 2021-22

Tryouts for the 2021-22 Stetson University Cheer Squad will be held virtually this year.

Stetson University cheerleaders are ambassadors for the university and must always act as such! It is our job to demonstrate sportsmanship and Hatter Pride on the field, court, around campus and in the community.

Cheerleading is a year-round sport; we cheer at both fall and spring sporting events. You can expect to have practice three times a week, strength and conditioning once a week and weekly study hall hours.

With classes, practice, conditioning, study hall, games and special events there will be a lot going on. It is important to not over commit yourself as a Stetson cheerleader. Some may be rewarded with  scholarships for their participation, but that comes with commitment. You will be expected to honor your commitment to the Stetson University Cheerleading Program.

Who are we looking for during tryouts?

Individuals must bring a positive attitude by promoting and developing good sportsmanship. We will be looking for individuals who display a clean and strong execution of core skills. Do not attempt skills you do not have! Technique is the MOST important thing we look at in all areas.

Where & When will tryouts be held?
There will be no in-person tryouts this year due to the pandemic. This year we will only conduct video tryouts.

Please fill out the 2021-22 Stetson Cheerleading interest form and submit to cheerleading@stetson.edu. Coach Marisa Sloboda will contact you with dates, times, and all tryout information and requirements.

Email any questions to cheerleading@stetson.edu.
