Hatters Visit FAU, Host SMU

Stetson men's soccer has a "wrap around" weekend ahead of them, as the Hatters visit Florida Atlantic, 6 p.m., Saturday, before hosting SMU, 7 p.m., Monday at the Athletic Training Center.

The Hatters (3-4-1) suffered a 3-1 defeat at USF on Tuesday. Sophomore Erwan Colas scored his team-leading third goal of the season against the Bulls, but USF scored a pair of second half goals to get the win.

Stetson continues to lead the ASUN Conference in both shots (114) and shots per game (14.3) while ranking second in total goals (13).

FAU (2-4) dropped a 2-0 decision to New Mexico last Saturday. The Owls have scored just three goals in six games this season.

SMU (4-3-1) has won its last two matches, including a 1-0 win over Tulsa its last time out. Despite being located in Dallas, Texas, SMU is ranked ninth in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Region poll.

News & Notes: Stetson and FAU are meeting for 43^rd time … FAU holds a 23-16-3 advantage in the series between former ASUN rivals … the Hatters and Owls will be facing each other for the sixth straight year … Stetson and SMU will be meeting for the first time … the Mustangs finished 17-3-1 a season ago and reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

Up Next: After this weekend, the Hatters resume ASUN play when they visit FGCU, 7 p.m., Oct. 6 in Fort Myers.
