Hatters Host NJIT on Thursday

Stetson men's basketball plays the first of two consecutive home games when the Hatters host ASUN Conference rival NJIT, 7 p.m., Thursday at Edmunds Center. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
The Hatters (4-16 overall, 0-5 ASUN) are looking to bounce back after Monday's 87-65 loss at FGCU. Four players scored in double figures for Stetson, but the Hatters couldn't overcome FGCU's surge at the end of the first half which left them in a 55-30 hole at halftime.
 
For the season, sophomore Christiaan Jones leads the Hatters in scoring at 11.0 points per game. Fellow sophomore Abayomi Iyiola leads the Hatters and ranks 7th in the ASUN with 6.8 rebounds per game.
 
NJIT (15-5, 3-2) has won two straight after capturing a 76-72 win at North Florida on Monday. Sophomore guard Zach Cooks leads the ASUN in scoring at 18.8 points per game.
 
Game Notes
•Thursday's game will be the 8th meeting in the brief history between the Hatters and the Highlanders. Stetson leads the all-time series by a 4-3 margin.
•NJIT joined the ASUN prior to the 2015-16 season
•Stetson has made at least one 3-point field goal in each of the last 444 games after making 8 against FGCU on Monday
•Stetson's last game without a trey was vs. Colorado State on Dec. 28, 2004
•The Hatters enter the weekend leading the ASUN Conference in offensive rebounds per game (12.5)
