Day'Neshia Banks Named Preseason All-Conference

Hatters Picked Fourth in Preseason Polls

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson women's basketball junior Day'Neshia Banks has been selected to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference team, the league announced on Thursday.

The Hatters have been picked to finish fourth in the preseason coaches poll and the media poll.

Banks, a 5-10 forward, is coming off a stellar sophomore campaign where she earned ASUN Newcomer of the Year and ASUN First Team All-Conference honors.  The Jacksonville, Fla. native averaged 14.9 points and 6.6 rebounds-per-game in 21 contests.  She scored in double figures 18 times with four double-doubles.  Banks ranked fourth overall in the ASUN in scoring (14.9) and third in scoring in ASUN games (16.4).  She shot 47 percent from the floor and was named ASUN Newcomer of the Week on Feb. 25.

The Hatters were 16-16 in 2018-19, they finished second in the conference with an 11-5 league record, and they advanced to postseason play for the ninth year in a row.  Stetson received 54 points in the preseason coaches poll, trailing only FGCU (81), Liberty (65), and North Alabama (63).
