Hatters Host ASUN Leader Liberty on Thursday

Stetson women's soccer hosts ASUN Conference foe Liberty, 7 p.m., Thursday at the Athletic Training Center in DeLand.
 
The Hatters (2-8-2, 0-2-1) are in need of a win to bolster their conference tournament hopes. The top six teams in the 9-team ASUN qualify for the tournament, which begins Nov. 1 at campus sites. Stetson is currently tied for seventh with Jacksonville.
 
Liberty (7-5-2, 3-0-0) sits atop the ASUN standings with nine points. The Flames swept a pair of conference games last weekend, winning at home against Lipscomb (2-0) and North Alabama (3-0).

About the Game: Stetson and Liberty meet for just the fourth time on Thursday … the Flames and Hatters first met back in 2001 and Liberty holds a 2-0-1 record in the series … Liberty goalkeeper Melody Jayroe leads the ASUN with 80 saves while Stetson's freshman keeper Lara Bates in third with 58 … following Thursday's game the Hatters will have just two home games remaining: vs. North Florida (Oct. 24) and FGCU (Oct. 27).
