Hatters Down Georgia Southern

Box Score Stetson women's tennis turned in a strong performance on Friday as the Hatters downed Georgia Southern, 5-2, at Wallis Tennis Center in Statesboro, Ga.

The Hatters (6-3) opened play by rallying to win the doubles point. After Georgia Southern won on Court 3, the Hatters evened doubles play with 6-2 win on Court 1 by Danel Ashirova & Lucie Renault. Stetson clinched the doubles point as Brooke Milner & Vicky Geurinckx earned a 6-4 victory on Court 2.

Singles play began with a 6-1, 6-2 win by Renault on Court 2. Georgia Southern got on the board with a straight set victory on Court 6, but Geurinckx made it 3-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 win on Court 4. Ashirova clinched the match for the Hatters with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph on Court 1.

Milner closed out Stetson's strong showing with a 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 win open Court 3.

The Hatters return to action against Savannah State, Saturday in Statesboro.
