Hatters Make First Visit to Liberty on Tuesday

Fresh from their first ASUN Conference win of the season Stetson men's basketball visits league heavyweight Liberty, 7 p.m., Tuesday, in Lynchburg, Va. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
The Hatters (5-19, 1-8) snapped an 8-game skid last Saturday with an impressive 92-75 win over Kennesaw State in DeLand. Five different players scored in double figures, including sophomore Abayomi Iyiola, who recorded his 10th career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
 
Stetson dominated the game against the Owls, shooting a season-high 53.7 percent from the field. The Hatters committed just 7 turnovers and Stetson's bench owned a 29-14 scoring advantage.
 
Liberty (19-5, 8-1) enters Tuesday's game following an impressive 77-57 home win over NJIT. Caleb Homesley led the Flames with 17points and Scottie James, Liberty's top scorer on the year at 12.2 points per game, had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

•Stetson begins the second round of ASUN Conference play on Tuesday when the Hatters make their first-ever visit to league newcomer Liberty
•The Hatters and Flames met back on Jan. 9 in DeLand when Liberty earned a 71-53 win
•Overall, this is the third meeting all-time between the schools. The first meeting came on Jan. 2, 1989 in DeLand, an 88-66 win for the Hatters.
•A win on Tuesday would give the Hatters consecutive ASUN victories for the first time since last January (NJIT, USC Upstate)
•Stetson has made at least one 3-point field goal in each of the last 448 games after making 9 against Kennesaw State on Saturday
•Stetson's last game without a trey was vs. Colorado State on Dec. 28, 2004
•Stetson's 92 points on Saturday were its most since the season opener vs. Johnson (116)
