Hatters Climb to 7th in AVCA Beach Poll

Stetson hits highest ranking since 2015

DeLand, Fla. -- After winning its third straight ASUN Championship this past weekend, the Stetson beach volleyball team is ranked seventh in the nation in this week's AVCA Beach Volleyball coaches poll.

It is the Hatters' highest AVCA ranking since finishing the 2015 season sixth in the country.  Stetson was ranked eighth a week ago but moved past Cal Poly into the seventh spot.

The Hatters (29-8) have won a school-record 13 duals in a row and are tied for the NCAA-lead with 29 victories.

Since opening the season at No. 17 in the polls, Stetson has climbed 10 spots, more than any other program.  The Hatters have won 11 matches against Top 20 opponents including three Top 10 victories.  It is also Stetson's 46th consecutive appearance in the AVCA poll. 

The Hatters will now await their postseason fate. Eight teams will be selected at-large to compete for the NCAA Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala., May 3-5.  The selection show will air April 28 at 7 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
