Hatters Complete Weekend Sweep

Macon, Ga. -- Stetson improved to 6-0 in ASUN play with a 4-1 win over North Florida and a 5-0 victory over Jacksonville Saturday afternoon at Mercer University's Bear Beach.

The 10th-ranked Hatters (21-8) won 19 of 22 sets on the day to stay perfect in league play. Stetson has now won 32 straight ASUN matches.

Rachel Noble and Ana Costa went 2-0 at the 3 seed, earning a three-set win over UNF (14-21, 21-17, 15-10) and a straight set win over Jacksonville (21-12, 21-13). Noble tied Kristin Lind for the most victories in school history with her 88th dual win.

At the 1 seed, Sunniva Helland-Hansen and Carly Perales won 23-21, 21-14 against UNF and 21-15, 21-8 vs. Jacksonville.

Darby Dunn and Sammee Thomas stayed hot at the 2 seed, earning a 21-12, 21-13 win over UNF and a 21-12, 21-14 victory over Jacksonville. The pair are 16-1 in their past 17 duals.

At the 4 seed, Julie Varga and Samantha Harris played a marathon match against UNF. The Osrpeys took the first set by a 34-32 score, but Varga and Harris evened the match with a 21-18 win in the second set. UNF edged the Hatter pair 16-14 in the third set for the 2-1 win.

Against Jacksonville at the 4 seed, Yasmin Kuck and Alexa Richardson won 21-5, 21-8.

At the 5 seed, Quinci Birker and Rebecca Ingram completed a perfect weekend with a 21-16, 21-16 win over UNF and a 21-18, 21-15 win over Jacksonville.

The Hatters will return home to host Mercer in a double dual on Wednesday afternoon. First serve at the Cooper Beach Courts is set for 2 p.m.
