Hatters Ranked 6th in Final AVCA Beach Poll

DeLand, Fla. -- The Stetson beach volleyball team is ranked sixth in the nation in the final AVCA Coaches poll of the 2019 season, which was released on Monday.

The ranking ties a program high-water mark as the Hatters were also ranked sixth in the final poll of the 2015 season.

Since opening the campaign at No. 17 in the AVCA poll, Stetson climbed 11 spots, more than any other program. The Hatters won 12 matches against Top 20 opponents including a win over top-ranked Southern Cal in the first round of the NCAA Championship. It was Stetson's first-ever victory over a top-ranked team.

The Hatters (30-10) also posted their second straight 30-win season and advanced to the final six of the NCAA Championship for the first time in school history. Stetson won their fifth ASUN Conference championship and set a school-record with 14 consecutive victories.
