Hatters Face Troy, South Alabama at Jaguar Classic

Stetson women's soccer embarks on its first road trip of the season this weekend when the Hatters visit Mobile, Ala., for games against Troy and South Alabama as part of the Jaguar Classic.

Stetson and Troy will kick-off on Friday at 5 p.m., while the Hatters and Jaguars meet Sunday at 4 p.m. Both games will be streamed live and live stats will also be available.

The Hatters (1-1) split a pair of games last weekend to start the season. After opening the year with a 1-0 loss to Grand Canyon last Thursday, the offense came to life in a 3-2 win over Rollins on Sunday. Sophomore Kate Carter scored a pair of goals and added an assist as the Hatters evened their season mark and gave first-year head coach Chris Bergmann his first Stetson win.

Troy (1-0-1) defeated Jackson State (7-0) and tied Tennessee Tech (0-0) last weekend at the Trojan Classic. Nathali Dasilva scored a hat trick against Jackson State.

South Alabama (1-0-1) also played in the Trojan Classic last weekend and had nearly identical results. The Jaguars defeated Jackson State (9-0) and tied Tennessee Tech (2-2). Briana Morris had a strong weekend, collecting three goals and an assist.

News & Notes: The Hatters are 6-2-1 all-time against Troy, a former ASUN Conference foe … now members of the Sun Belt Conference (along with South Alabama), the Trojans haven't faced the Hatters since 2013 … Stetson and South Alabama will be meeting for the fifth time in series history … the teams have split the previous four meetings, all of which were played between 1994 and 2004 … Kate Carter's 2-goal effort last Sunday was the first multi-goal performance of her career.
