Hatters Fall 3-1 to FAU

Boca Raton, Fla. -- Stetson took the opening set from FAU, but the Owls won the final three sets to claim a 3-1 (20-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-16) victory Friday night in the final match of the FAU Invitational.

Eva Deisa led the Hatters (1-1) with an 11-kill, 14-dig double double performance.  She also had five blocks.  Elena Djokovic and Kaylee Oscarson added nine kills apiece.

Chelcie Spence picked up 16 digs, including the 900th of her career.  Naina Ivanova added 10 digs.

Stetson hit .342 in the first set, scoring five of the final six points to take a 1-0 lead in the match.  FAU hit .327 over the final three sets to earn the victory.

The Hatters finished the FAU Invitational with a 1-1 mark.  Desia and Oscarson were named to the all-tournament team.

Saturday's match vs. Grambling State has been canceled due to university closure for Hurricane Dorian.  The Hatters will hope to return to action next weekend at the FIU Panther Fest in Miami.
