Hatters Welcome NJIT on Saturday as ASUN Play Begins

After securing their first home win of the season on Wednesday, Stetson men's soccer returns to its home pitch on Saturday when the Hatters open ASUN Conference play against NJIT. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Athletic Training Center.

The Hatters (4-3) defeated Georgia Southern, 2-1, on Wednesday, as they dominated play for much of the night. Calum Ferguson and William Suaut each scored goals and Ian McCauley had a pair of assists.

NJIT (2-1-3) enters play following a 2-1 loss at Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday. The Highlanders, who have a number of impressive results to their credit this season, entered the week ranked No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region poll.

About the Game: Saturday's game will be just the fourth meeting in the series with NJIT, with all contest coming since the Highlanders joined the ASUN in 2016 … NJIT holds a 2-1 lead in the series … Stetson suffered a 2-0 in Newark last season to NJIT … the Highlanders are one of three ASUN teams in the current Atlantic Region poll, joining FGCU (4^th) and Jacksonville (9^th) … Stetson was No. 3 in the first regional poll of the season back on Sept. 2 … NJIT owns the ASUN's top offense with 14 goals in six games … the Highlanders' Rene White leads the conference with six goals ..
