Hatters Drop Road Match at Kennesaw State

Riley Nieporte Hits a Career-High .529

Kennesaw, Ga. -- Eva Deisa registered her second straight double-double, but Kennesaw State defeated visiting Stetson 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-14) Sunday afternoon in an ASUN match at the Convocation Center.

The Owls (10-5) hit .315 for the match to improve to 3-0 in ASUN play.  The Hatters (2-10) dropped to 0-3 in the league.

Deisa led the Hatters with 10 kills and 10 digs for her seventh double-double of the season.  Riley Nieporte also collected 10 kills and a career-high .529 attack percentage.

Stetson battled through 16 ties and eight lead changes in the first set to grab a 24-22 lead.  The Owls scored the next four points, however, including the clinching point on a video challenge call reversal, to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Hatters hit .333 in the second set and cut a late 22-17 deficit down to 23-22, but KSU nailed down the final two points of the frame.  The Owls used a 12-2 run midway through the third set to pull away.

Lauren Chastang led KSU with 12 kills.

AFter playing 11 of their first 12 matches on the road, the Hatters will begin a three-game homestand on Saturday night against FGCU.
