Hatters Move Georgia Southern Match to Neutral Site

With Hurricane Dorian still impacting Florida, Stetson women's soccer has elected to move its Thursday game with Georgia Southern to a neutral site. Instead of playing in DeLand the Hatters and Eagles will now square off 6 p.m., Thursday at Columbus State University in Columbus, Ga.

The Hatters (1-3) have been on the road since leaving campus last Thursday for the Jaguar Classic in Mobile, Ala. Stetson suffered a pair of losses last weekend against Troy (3-2) and South Alabama (5-1).

Sophomore transfer Frankie Frericks scored a pair of goals against Troy and freshman Maggie Struble registered her first collegiate goal in the loss to South Alabama.

Georgia Southern (3-1) enters play on Thursday riding a three-match winning streak. Last weekend the Eagles earned wins over Gardner-Webb (4-3) and Presbyterian (2-1). Frida Brattum leads Georgia Southern with four goals and an assist (9 points).

Following the Georgia Southern contest, the Hatters visit Miami, 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12.

News & Notes:  Stetson and Georgia Southern will meet for just the 8th time on Thursday … the Eagles hold a 4-3 advantage in the series, but Stetson earned a 1-0 win last year in Statesboro, Ga. … Thursday's game will be played at Columbus State's Walden Soccer Complex.
