Hatters Add Game vs. Edward Waters

Preview
The Stetson women's basketball team has added a home game for Thursday at 1 p.m. against Edward Waters College.  Tip-off at the Edmunds Center is scheduled for 1 p.m.  The game will not be broadcast.

The Hatters, who were originally scheduled to leave their 14-day isolation on Friday, were able to leave after 10 days in accordance with the recent change to CDC guidelines.

Thursday's game will now mark the 2020-21 season opener for the Hatters.  

The All-Time Series
Stetson and Edward Waters will be meeting for the first time since Dec. 4, 1980, a span of 40 years and 6 days.  The Hatters lead the all-time series 2-0:

About the Opponent
Edwards Waters dropped an 80-57 decision on UAB on Nov. 25.  The game did not count against the Tigers (0-0) overall record.

Under the Hat
  • Stetson is beginning its 46th season of women's basketball in the modern era.
  • The Hatters are 10-2 in home openers under head coach Lynn Bria. Last season, Stetson defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 77-46 in the home opener.
  • Thursday's game will mark the start of a busy 5-game-in-11-day stretch for Stetson.
  • Day'Neshia Banks enters the season as the ASUN's leading returning scorer (16.0 ppg).  She was selected to the ASUN preseason all-conference team.
  • Megan Vincent is 43 blocks shy of tying Sarah Sagerer for the school record in blocked shots (213).
Up Next
The Hatters will visit USF (2-1) on Sunday at 2 p.m.  The Bulls are receiving votes in both the AP and Coaches Top 25 poll for an unofficial #26 national ranking.  The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
