Hatters Host Jacksonville on Senior Day

Stetson closes out the 2019-20 regular season on Saturday when the Hatters host ASUN Conference rival Jacksonville, 1 p.m., Saturday, at Edmunds Center.

Seniors Ricky Gouety and Jahlil Rawley, along with team manager Jared Lynn, will be honored in pregame Senior Day ceremonies, as all three participate in their final home game of the regular season.

But for the Hatters, the season continues at home beyond Saturday, as Stetson is one of four teams to clinch a home game in next week's ASUN Tournament quarterfinals. The Hatters will host a yet-to-be-determined opponent on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. Stetson will be the third or fourth seed for the tourney.

As for the Jacksonville game, the Hatters (15-15 overall, 9-6 ASUN) are looking to snap a 3-game losing streak following Thursday 85-72 loss to North Florida. Freshman Mahamadou Diawara (28 points) and junior Christiaan Jones (25 points) each enjoyed career-high scoring nights but the Hatters ran out of gas down the stretch as UNF closed the game on a 23-8 run.

Jacksonville (13-17, 6-9) dropped a 73-67 decision on Thursday at FGCU. Senior center David Bell is the only player in the ASUN averaging a double-double with 12.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
