Hatters Split at Stetson Spring Fling on Saturday

DeLand, Fla. -- In a clash of two Top 20 programs, No. 7 Stetson fell to No. 18 Florida Atlantic 3-2 Saturday morning at the Cooper Beach Courts.

The Hatters (6-3) bounced back with a 5-0 victory over Saint Leo to conclude the Stetson Spring Fling with a 3-1 mark.

No. 1 Pair Sunniva Helland-Hansen and Carly Perales went 2-0 Saturday, picking up straight sets wins over FAU and Saint Leo.

No. 2 Pair Ana Costa and Kyce Martins also went 2-0 on Saturday to run their season record to a perfect 9-0.

Against Saint Leo, Stetson got 2-0 wins from Lauren Domel and Shae Henson at Pair 3 (21-16, 21-15) and from Kamryn Johnson and Madison Bobes at Pair 4 (21-15, 21-10). At Pair 5, Katinka Krahn and Oda Stray Homme won in three sets, 21-11, 20-22, 15-12.

The Hatters will head to West Coast next weekend for matches at Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount.
