Hatters add signee for spring 2022

DeLand, Fla. -- The Stetson University women's tennis team announced Nadeja Maslova, an American-born recruit from Brooklyn, N.Y. has signed with the Hatters for the spring of 2022. 
 
Maslova is the first five-star recruit since Alizee Michaud in 2015 and the first American born recruit the program has had. 
 
In 2020, according to tennisrecruiting.net, Maslova was ranked as high as No. 52 nationally and No. 6 in New York and her highest UTR reached 10.69.
 
Prior to signing with the Hatters, Maslova's awards for 2019 included winning the G16 USTA Winter Nationals Champion Gold Ball in singles while adding a semifinal finish in doubles. The Brooklyn native was also the runner-up and Silver Ball finisher in doubles at the USTA G16 National Clay Court Championships. In 2018, she had a first place, Gold Ball finish in singles at the G16 USTA Indoor Nationals while also placing third in singles in 2017 at the same event. 
 
"We are very excited to finally have signed an American player of this level," head women's tennis coach Travis Sandlant said. "Nadejda will add tremendous depth to our lineup and we are excited to add her to this nationally-ranked recruiting class."
