Hatters to Host FIU Thursday

The spring season continues for Stetson women's soccer as they host FIU at 6 p.m., Thursday, at the Athletic Training Center.
 
The Hatters (0-1) look to bounce back from their opening day defeat at the hands of Georgia Southern. After allowing two goals in the first half, Stetson settled things down in the second half, keeping the Eagles scoreless and threatening a comeback after Lily Truong netted the Hatters' opening goal of the season midway through game's final 45 minutes.
 
The Panthers are 2-1 on the young season. FIU's non-conference schedule has featured several ASUN opponents. To open their season, the Panthers swept a pair of matches against winless Jacksonville, with a loss to UNF in-between.
 
FIU has allowed only 1.32 goals per game. Forward Kédie Johnson leads the Panthers with two goals and an assist through her first three games.

About the Game: This is the 10th meeting between these two programs all-time, with the series currently knotted at 4-4-1 … in their last meeting, the Hatters defeated FIU on the road by a score of 2-0 on August 17, 2018 … the Hatters have not started a season with two straight losses since 2012 … Thursday's match will be the final non-conference match of the season for the Hatters … Stetson begins conference play on February 28 when the Hatters take on Jacksonville.
