Hatters Fall 3-0 to FGCU

Naina Ivanova Records 1500th Assist

DeLand, Fla. -- FGCU posted 51 kills and hit .345 as a team en route to a 3-0 victory over Stetson Saturday afternoon at the Edmunds Center. 

The Eagles (4-1, 2-1 ASUN) won by scores of 25-13, 25-17, and 25-16  to take Game 1 of the two-game series vs. Hatters (1-1, 0-1).

Playing for the first time in 20 days, Stetson hit just .115 as a team.  Elena Djokovic led the way with 12 kills, and Naina Ivanova became the 10th player in school history to reach 1500 career assists.  She also recorded a double double with 17 assists and 13 digs.

Erin Shomaker led the Eagles with 13 kills.  

The same two teams will play Game 2 of their series at 3 p.m. Sunday. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
