Hatters Host Jacksonville in Home, ASUN Opener

Stetson men's soccer opens its home schedule when the Hatters host ASUN Conference foe Jacksonville, 7 p.m., Friday, at the Athletic Training Center.

In this unique spring season, the Hatters' home opener also serves as their opening to conference play, as they welcome in a Dolphins team that finished the 2019 season with a record of 5-7-2.

The Hatters last played on Feb. 9, when they were held scoreless in their season opener against FAU. Stetson was scheduled to take on Mercer on Feb. 17, but the game was canceled due to COVID-19 complications.

The Hatters took seven shots in their opening-day loss, three each for Oliver Bryneus and Felix Aakerberg, and goalkeeper Owen Jack made a pair of saves in his first career start.

Though they did complete a 3-1 exhibition victory against DII Flagler, Jacksonville (0-2-1) has yet to score a goal in three official contests this season. The Dolphins are winless in those three matches but did manage a scoreless tie versus College of Charleston on Feb. 15.
