Hatters Fall 3-0 at FGCU

Fort Myers, Fla. -- Erin Shomaker and Courtney VanLiew combined for 37 kills as FGCU defeated Stetson 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-12) in Game 2 of an ASUN series Saturday night at Alico Arena.

After two tightly contested sets in which Stetson led 18-15 and 18-16, the Eagles (10-2, 8-2 ASUN) pulled away in the third frame to complete the weekend sweep.

Elena Djokovic led the Hatters (5-5, 4-5 ASUN) with 11 kills, while Kaylee Oscarson and Anabelle Standish chipped in seven kills apiece.  Naina Ivanova delivered 33 assists, and Chelcie Spence picked up 13 digs.

FGCU outhit Stetson .370 to .226.

Stetson has three matches left in the regular season - all next week, and all in Jacksonville.  The Hatters will visit Jacksonville at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Swisher Gym. Stetson will then face UNF for a pair of matches over the weekend.
