Hatters Split on Final Day of FAU Beach Bash

Carly Perales Ties School-Record for Wins

Boca Raton, Fla. -- Stetson defeated UAB 4-1 in game one but fell 3-2 to FGCU in game two to split its final two duals at the FAU Beach Bash in Boca Raton.

Despite nearly upsetting No. 1 FSU on Friday, the 14th-ranked Hatters (10-6) completed the weekend with a 1-3 mark and saw their 42-game win streak against ASUN opponents halted.

Carly Perales and Ana Costa went 2-0 at Pair 1 and Aleksandra Stadnik and Madison Bobes went 2-0 at Pair 5. Perales now has 96 career dual match victories, tying her with Rachel Noble for the all-time program lead. Meanwhile, Costa became the 15th player in school history to record 50 victories.

Stetson will host FGCU for a double dual on Wednesday at the Cooper Beach Courts in DeLand. First serve is scheduled for noon.
