Hatters Close out Road Schedule at UNF

Stetson women's soccer hits the road one final time this regular season, taking on UNF, 6 p.m., Sunday in Jacksonville.

Stetson (1-4-1, 0-3-1 ASUN) looks to rebound from a 3-0 loss at FGCU last week. Ashleigh Wise finished with a season-high seven saves in the loss.

Taking on the well-rounded, ASUN-leading Ospreys will be no easy task for the Hatters. UNF (7-1, 4-0 ASUN) leads the ASUN with 17 goals this season. They have also allowed the fewest goals in the conference – opponents are managing a mere 0.73 goals per game against the Ospreys.

In their first matchup this season, back on March 6, the Hatters fell to UNF three minutes into overtime on a heartbreaking rebound goal, despite dominating nearly every aspect of play. The Hatters out-shot the Ospreys, 15-11, and held the advantage in corner kicks, 3-2. Stetson is the only team to take UNF scoreless through 90 minutes this season.

The Hatters have outshot opponents this season, 77-58. They are allowing only five shots-on-goal per game. Stetson averages 12.8 shots per game and nearly five corners per game, both the third-best marks in the ASUN. Defensively, the Hatters are only allowing five shots on goal per game, which also ranks near the top of the conference.

Stetson head coach Chris Bergmann is excited about the future of the Hatters:

"We are doing everything right," Bergmann said. "We now need to put the ball in the back of the net. We are creating plenty of chances. Our hard work will pay off."
