Hatters look to even up record against Oakland

DeLand, Fla. – The Stetson University women's soccer team looks to even its record on the new campaign as the 2021 Hatters make their home debut Sunday afternoon with a match against Oakland University. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at the ATC. Admission is $5.00 or free with a valid Stetson University ID.

Previous Matches
The Hatters come off a tough season opening loss to FIU on Thursday night as Stetson fell 2-0 to the Panthers in Miami. Oakland also comes off a season opening loss Thursday night as the Golden Grizzlies fell to Florida Atlantic University 3-0.

Scouting the Grizzlies
After a canceled 2020 fall season, Oakland competed in a 10-game, conference-only schedule beginning in February. The Golden Grizzlies posted a 5-3-2 record which included a four-game winning streak in the month of March. Oakland was just two of 12 Horizon League teams to play in all 10 games.

Looking Ahead
The Hatters match on Sunday is the first of three straight matches on Stetson's home pitch. After Oakland, Hatters women's soccer plays host to the Mercer College Bears on Friday, Aug. 27 and then Alabama State on Sunday, Aug. 29. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
