Hatters set for two matches in the Palmetto State

Charleston, S.C. – The Stetson University women's soccer team travels to Charleston, S.C. this weekend for two matches as the Hatters take on Charleston Southern University on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. Then on Sunday, Sept. 5, Stetson takes on The Citadel in another 1 p.m. matinee.

Stetson comes off two straight wins at home as the Hatters blanked Mercer University 2-0 behind goals from Maggie Struble and Kyleigh Thelen. Hatters keeper Ashleigh Wise made three saves along the way to her first career shutout. In Stetson's second win of the week, the Hatters topped Alabama State 2-1 on Aug. 29 behind goals from Jackie Fiacco and Lea Alexander.

Scouting the Buccaneers
Charleston Southern University comes off a season-opening 5-1 loss to Georgia Southern on Aug. 29. Elizabeth Olsen scored the lone goal for the Buccaneers.

All-Time Series
The Hatters last faced the Buccaneers on September 17, 2017 and came away with a 1-1 draw. Stetson is 4-3-1 all-time against CSU beginning back on Oct. 9, 1993.

Scouting The Citadel
The Bulldogs are currently 3-0, matching the best start in the program's history set back in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The Citadel comes off a 5-0 win over Anderson as the Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 10-1 in their first three contests.

When Last We Met
The Hatters and the Bulldogs last met on August, 30 2015 and it was Stetson that came out on top with a 4-0 victory.

Stetson's women's soccer team continues its five-game road trip as the Hatters travel to Statesboro, Ga. to take on Georgia Southern on Friday, Sept. 10. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
