Hatters set to face UNCG and Campbell in the Tar Heel State

Greensboro, N.C. -- The Stetson University men's soccer team travels to North Carolina this weekend for two matches. The Hatters make a stop in Greensboro to take on UNC Greensboro on Friday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. Stetson then travels to Buies Creek to take on Campbell University with kickoff set for 2 p.m.
 
Recap
After falling 4-3 in overtime fashion to Winthrop in their season-opener back on Aug. 26, the Hatters played to a scoreless draw against the College of Charleston on Aug. 29. Three different Hatters scored in Stetson's loss to Winthrop, as Ajmeer Spengler, Oliver Bryneus and Alex Turner all recorded goals in the loss. The offense looks to get back on track following the scoreless draw.
 
Scouting the Spartans
The Spartans come off a 2-0 shutout win over Gardner-Webb back on Aug. 29. Joseph Skinner netted the first goal of the match before assisting teammate Angel Bacho who scored the Spartans second goal. 
 
All-Time Series
The Hatters are 0-2 all-time against the Spartans. Stetson and UNCG last met on Aug. 27, 2006 and it was the Spartans that came out on top, 3-2. 
 
Scouting the Camels
The Camels come off a 3-1 loss to Davidson on Aug. 29 in which Daniel Hernandez scored Campbell's lone goal. The Camels are set to play Saint Joseph's University on Friday, Sept. 3 before Sunday's match with the Hatters.
 
All-Time Series
The Hatters hold a 7-13-1 all -time record against Campbell in 21 matches since 1969. The 2015 season was the last time Stetson and Campbell squared off, and the Camels came away with the 1-0 victory. 
 
Up Next
Stetson's men's soccer team continues its three-game road trip as the Hatters travel to Tampa to take on South Florida on Friday, Sept. 10. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
