Stetson redshirt freshman
Truman Keppy capped a busy first week of the spring golf season by earning his first ASUN Golfer of the Week Award.
Â
Keppy, a native of Lakemoor, Ill., led the Hatters to a third-place finish at the Veterans Intercollegiate earlier this week. He posted consecutive scores of two-under par 70 before closing with a final round 73 to tie for sixth place in the tournament with North Florida sophomore Cooper Smith, who he shared the Golfer of the Week Award with.
Â
Keppy finished second in the field with a total of 14 birdies. His three-under par total score of 213 was six shots better than his previous collegiate best.
Â
Keppy is the first member of the Stetson men's golf program to earn ASUN Player of the Week honors since February 28, 2020, when Baylor Payne captured the award. Overall, Keppy is the ninth player in program history to take home the weekly league honor.
Â
The Hatters will return to action on February 28 when they open play in the Orlando Invitational at the famed Campeón Course at the Mission Inn Golf & Country Club in Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla.
