Hatters set to host Senior Day at Stetson Beach Bash

DeLand, Fla. -- The Stetson University beach volleyball team gets set to host its final home tournament of the season with the Stetson Beach Bash beginning on Saturday, March 26. The No. 18-ranked Hatters welcome No. 10 FAU, Coastal Carolina, No. 13 Georgia State and No. 19 FIU to Cooper Beach for the weekend event.

Colene Hamilton, Lauren Domel and Oda Stray Homme are the Hatters three senior members of this year's squad and Stetson will honor its three seniors during a Senior Day celebration on Sunday, March 27 starting at 3:45 p.m.

The Hatters enter this weekend with an 8-8 overall record and are 8-4 at home this season. Stetson comes off its Stetson Challenge tournament last weekend in which the Hatters went 3-1, winning duals over North Alabama, North Florida, and Palm Beach Atlantic. Carolina Ferraris and Anete Namike went undefeated in the 2s and helped the Hatters bounce back with two wins in a row after falling 4-1 to Florida Gulf Coast.

The Hatters have already faced two of this weekend's four opponents as Stetson looks to rebound against the 13th-ranked Panthers and 10th-ranked Owls, having dropped a pair of 3-2 decisions to both Georgia State and FAU back on March 4 and March 12, respectively. This weekend will be the first time Stetson squares off against Coastal Carolina and FIU.

After this weekend's tournament, the Hatters hit the road for the remainder of the 2022 schedule beginning with the Carolina Challenge at Wheeler Beach in Columbia, S.C. on Friday, April 1. The Hatters will take on UAB, South Carolina, Jacksonville, and UNCW.
