Hatters host JU, DSU at ATC

DeLand, Fla. -- The Stetson University lacrosse team gets set for a three game homestand to close out regular season action as the Hatters host No. 15 Jacksonville University on Saturday, April 16 at noon, followed by Delaware State on April 19 and Coastal Carolina on April 30.

The Hatters enter Saturday's contest with a 3-9 overall record as Stetson comes off its fifth straight loss, falling 22-9 on the road to Liberty University back on April 9. The Hatters offense was led by Samantha Paglino and Saige-Lyn Gidzinski as the freshman-senior combo each recorded a hat trick

The No. 15-ranked Dolphins come off a 23-6 win over Kennesaw State back on April 9 as JU improved to 8-3 on the year and 2-0 in ASUN Conference action. Two of the Dolphins three losses have come against top-25 teams as JU fell 17-10 to No. 2 UNC back on Feb. 27 and 20-5 against No. 15 Notre Dame on March 13.

The Dolphins are led by three prolific goal scorers as Sarah Elms' 40 goals leads JU and are good for second in the league. Jenny Kinsey follows Elms as Kinsey has found the back of the net 30 times and is fourth in the ASUN.

The Hatters look to not only end their current five-game skid, but also end an 11-game losing streak to the Dolphins, dating back to 2013.

After the Hatters bout with the Dolphins, Stetson welcomes Delaware State to the ATC for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday, April 19. Stetson has had success against the Hornets as the Hatters have a four-game win streak over DSU dating back to 2015.

Before facing the Hatters on Tuesday night, the Hornets square off against Kennesaw State and JU on April 16 and April 18, respectively.

DSU sports an underwhelming offense as the Hornets have scored double digits in just one game this season, defeating Howard University 17-8 back on March 18. DSU is led by Rosella Nardi and Emmy McGill as the pair has netted 12 goals each on the year. In in the net, junior goalkeeper Moe Brown is third in the ASUN with 79 saves.

After the Hatters face both JU and DSU, Stetson concludes regular season action on Saturday, April 30 and will celebrate Senior Day against Coastal Carolina. Game time is set for noon at the ATC.
